Last week, as I was getting ready for work, grabbing a coffee, and checking my schedule; my 3 year old grandson was hanging out with me.
The sitter arrived and worked to help Lincoln into his shoes and sweat shirt.
The sitter asked him “if he would like to use the bathroom before they walked to the park?”
He said, “No.”
She put on his other shoe and asked again, “Lincoln, are you sure you don’t want to go potty?”
He said “No” again.
A few minutes later, “Lincoln, it would be a good idea to go potty”
…and she got the same answer.
I casually walked by and said, “Lincoln, as soon as you go potty you can go to the park”
He said, “Ok” and off he went.
Some might say, that’s manipulation! I would call it WISDOM.
I don’t want to fight or wrestle with a 3 year old and I know when things make sense, he will choose the right course.
He’s a genius!!
